Following the tragic War years, returning veterans requiring medical care often found themselves isolated and alone. The Royal Canadian Legion was there to organize medical transportation and hospital visiting as these were critical community services. This longstanding tradition of service to those in need remains prominent today, as Legionnaires and members of the Ladies Auxiliaries arrange for medical transportation and hospital visiting. These small gestures have significant impact and provide hope for those feeling alone and fearful of their medical challenges.
Veterans in need of such assistance should contact the Service Officer in the local Legion Branch.
