Legion Week

In June 2004 the Government of British Columbia officially proclaimed Legion Week from June 24th to 30th, a six day period preceding Canada Day, as a tribute to the commitment of the Legion in helping build strong communities that embrace the freedom and opportunities Canadians fought to preserve. Since that time an annual Proclamation is announced by the Premier of British Columbia.June 2007 Convention Victoria, B.C.

During this time, Legion Braches and Ladies Auxiliaries plan events to highlight Legion Week in the community. It is a time to share the experiences of the Legion with citizens and profile the extensive community service offered.

The Legion within BC/Yukon Command is a vital part of virtually every community, reflecting the fact that the care and well being of its citizens, is a shared responsibility.

British Columbia and Ontario are the only two provinces at this time, who recognize a Legion Week.

Plan a Legion Week celebration in your community.
